| Following last year's successful decision to cross-sell blackjack on its online casino poker site, Party Gaming has recently chosen online backgammon as its latest product. The announcement coincided with news that the online casino firm's first quarter revenues have soared to over 190 million pounds sterling. The new online casino game is expected to be available on the Party Gaming site within four to six weeks. Finance director Martin Weigold described in a press statement the launch of online casino backgammon as "imminent." Its intentions are to provide the online casino firm with additional revenue while heightening the exposure of the Party Gaming branded gaming platform and attracting new online casino fans to the firm's other casino sites. Weigold also revealed that a second game will be launched later in the year that will involve the player's competing against the house to win lucrative prizes. The online casino firm also announced that a record number of new poker sign-ups in the last three months originated from outside the U.S. Approximately 39 percent of the online casino firm's 263,254 new members are based in locations other than the U.S. Party Gaming shares rose by four and a half points following the news. | |
